Signing Contract on “Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects” in the JFY 2018 (Part 5)

A contract on “Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects” known as “GGP”, totaling at €28,400, was signed between H. E. Mr. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mr. Ramezanali Hassan Zadeh, Acting Managing Director of North Khorasan Rural Water and Wastewater Company regarding “The Project for Improvement of Access to Drinking Water for Domestic Use for Rural People in North Khorasan Province”, on 11 March 2019.

 

The “Water” is the most precious natural resource of the country, which is for the most part arid or semi-arid. For this reason, both sides decided to conclude the Grant Contract for humanitarian support, addressing the serious water shortage of the country in recent years.

 

The signing ceremony was held in the Embassy of Japan in the Islamic Republic of Iran, in which Mr. Saito expressed: “We wish that the wholehearted support of the people of Japan for expansion and strengthening of the friendship will reach people in North Khorasan province, as well as great success of the project.”

 Information: The Embassy of Japan in Iran has supported the projects proposed by various bodies such as NGOs and local governments, since 1999, and has carried out 140 projects in this country in the fields of primary education, medical care, public welfare and rural development, so far.
The Government of Japan intends to further continue its assistance to NGOs and local governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the humanitarian and development fields.
