Signing Contracts of Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects FY 2023

“Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)” implemented by the Embassy of Japan in Iran is based on the concept of human security and it is a flexible and timely funding scheme directly benefits to the grassroots level.
On February 5, 2024, Mr. MURAKAMI Kenju, Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Iran signed a Grant Contract with Iranian NGOs, to implement the following five projects at the total amount of 543,435 Euro.
1. Grant Agreement to provide 147,000 Euro to Ilam University of Medical Sciences to implement the Project for Introduction of Mammography Equipment for Indigent Women in Ilam Province
2. Grant Agreement to provide 135,000 Euro to Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences to implement the Project for Provision of Colonoscopy Equipment for Vulnerable People in Khuzestan Province
3. Grant Agreement to provide 62,000 Euro to Charity Foundation for Special Diseases to implement the Project for Provision of Bone Densitometer for Vulnerable People in Kerman Province
4. Grant Agreement to provide 52,435 Euro to Noor Avaran Salamat Non-Government Charity Foundation to implement the Project for the Provision of Ophthalmic Examination Equipment for Vulnerable People in Hormozgan Province
5. Grant Agreement to provide 147,000 Euro to Charity Association for Supporting Cancer Patients in West Azerbaijan Province to implement the Project for Provision of Mammography Equipment for Vulnerable Women in West Azerbaijan Province
The Embassy of Japan in Iran has been supporting various organizations, including NGOs, since 1999 under the scheme of ‘Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects’. As a result, GGP has provided and implemented 164 projects in the field of education, health, public welfare and rural development. The Government of Japan will continue to support NGOs and local governments of Iran which work for the humanitarian and development field.
