Contract of Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects
by the Government of Japan regarding
Child Welfare Charity Foundation Orumiyeh Branch
Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) has acquired an excellent reputation for providing flexible and timely support to development projects at the grass-roots level. The contract for granting a donation of €72,692 to Child Welfare Charity Foundation (CF) Orumiyeh Branch, will be signed at the Japanese Embassy in Iran by H. E. Mr. Kinichi KOMANO, Ambassador and Mr. Roya CHEGINY, Manager of CF Orumiyeh Branch, on 10th February 2011.
CF Orumiyeh Branch has implemented activities to finance supports to children with cancer and disadvantaged child laborers. And the organization has managed an 8-rooms medical treatment center near the Omid charity Hospital since 2003.
Generally, each hospital doesn’t have enough space to stay for children with cancer and the case that the hospital has the space to stay makes the child patients a heavy financial burden. Many disadvantaged patients with cancer have no other choice to go to hospitals regularly despite they must keep quiet in bed, and some patients give up to receive treatment because they cannot pay the fee to go to the hospitals. The medical treatment center which CF Orumiyeh Branch manages at present is always fully occupied and the new medical treatment center would be built with open arms.
For these reasons, CF Orumiyeh Branch initiated a plan to build the new medical treatment center with 12 rooms, and accordingly applied GGP to partly support the project with 270m2 of accommodation for visiting cancerous children. The Government of Japan accepted this project and is going to sign the contract with CF Orumiyeh Branch.
The Government of Japan intends to further continue its assistance to NGOs and non-profit organizations active in the humanitarian and development fields, in the Islamic Republic of Iran. (End) |
