Contract of Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects
by the Government of Japan regarding
Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Khayerine Salamat Society
And
Imam Baqer Charity Institution
Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) has acquired an excellent reputation for providing flexible and timely support to development projects at the grass-roots level. In this regard, two GGP contracts were signed at the Japanese Embassy in Iran by H. E. Mr. Kinichi KOMANO, Ambassador of Japan, on 5th February 2012, which are:
- The contract for granting a donation of €82,614 to Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Khayerine Salamat Society (Signed by Mr. Abbas QADERI, Managing Director of the Society)
- The contract for granting a donation of €82,650 to Imam Baqer Charity Institution (Signed by Mr. Razzaq AL-SHAREA, Managing Director of the Institution)
Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Khayerine Salamat Society, as a local NGO since 2007, has been assisting local health and medical centers which could not afford their expenses, as well as financially supporting newly established medical centers. Lordegan Health, Treatment and Medical Diagnosis Center in Lordegan Township, which was decrepit and needed renovation, requested GGP through Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Khayerine Salamat Society to partly support its project with 285m2 new center for Lordegan medical network. The request was accepted by the Government of Japan in February 2012.
Imam Baqer Charity Institution established the Complex including residences, medical clinic and vocational center for mainly Afghan refugees in Mashhad city of Khorassan Razavi Province in 2005 and has managed the Complex since then as a local NGO. The medical clinic has internal medical and injection rooms, but more medical care was required. Therefore, Imam Baqer Charity Institution applied GGP to support the project with equipping this medical clinic with medical devices such as dentistry and gynecology devices. The request was accepted by the Government of Japan in January 2012.
The Government of Japan intends to further continue its assistance to NGOs and non-profit organizations active in the humanitarian and development fields, in the Islamic Republic of Iran. (End)
